It is told that one day the goddess Venus, to refresh herself from the heat, went to this wonderful oasis; she loved that place and made it a corner of paradise. One morning a shepherd with his flock happened by. The man by hearing the voice of a girl who enjoyed singing came up and could not help but fall in love, especially with her long blond hair. He longed for that head of hair more than anything in the world, so one night, as Venus slept, he came up and cut off a lock. The goddess woke up and, angry about that gesture, turned the lock into the water and the shepherd soon drowned. However, Venus was not evil and while listening to the screams of the young man tried to save him, but nothing could. The Goddess then, understanding the shepherd’s love gesture, decided to turn those waters into waterfalls.
